Norway has made fighting inequality a priority. But what concrete steps can be taken? And what role can Norway play through its new development strategy "Prosjekt Vendepunkt"?
The world is facing a growing inequality crisis that threatens progress on poverty reduction, development, and climate action.
In 2025, young people across countries like Nepal, Kenya, Morocco, Madagascar, and Peru took to the streets to protest corruption, poor public services, and rising inequality. These
pressures are also shaping elections and fueling unrest in many other regions.
Today, most countries spend more on debt payments than on health, education, and the environment combined, while hundreds of billions are lost each year to tax abuse by multinational companies and wealthy individuals. The consequences hit developing countries the hardest, especially women and marginalized groups.
Norway has made fighting inequality a priority. But what concrete steps can be taken? How can global financial reforms, debt relief, and fair taxation provide the funding needed for
development and climate action? And what role can Norway play through its new development strategy "Prosjekt Vendepunkt"?
Join us as experts and organizations discuss how Norway can best support debt and tax justice, strengthen fair economic policies, and mobilize resources to reduce inequality worldwide.
At the event we will hear from:
