We are looking for a skilled and experienced head of the Deforestation-free markets team, to lead our global work to halt drivers of tropical deforestation, forest degradation and related human rights violations, with a particular focus on market-driven drivers of deforestation.

Your job will be to lead an ambitious and skilled team of eight people, to ensure the development and implementation of Rainforest Foundation Norway’s (RFN) advocacy work towards relevant private sector actors and public decision makers, and guide RFN’s work on drivers in rainforest countries. Main target groups for the team are companies with high deforestation-risk commodities in their supply chains, the financial sector and policy makers, especially in Europe and in China.

Wanted qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education and/or experience
  • Relevant management experience, strategic communication work and/or political influence work, preferably with an international dimension
  • Very good written and oral skills in English

The position is a 100% permanent position at the head office in Oslo. The position is a management position, with staff responsibility of eight people, and is part of the newly established International Advocacy department. The position will report to the head of department, who represents the department in the top management team.

The position requires a valid work permit within Schengen.
