Responsibilities also involve:

  • Assessing RFN’s potential for impact on the main Norwegian and international stakeholders for multilateral policy frameworks.
  • Representing RFN in dialogue with relevant stakeholders for policy purposes and in media or other external channels.
  • Supporting our country teams in developing country specific policy plans for the implementation of multilateral policy frameworks.
  • Work in collaboration with other teams, such as our deforestation free markets-team, in the development and implementation of joint strategies, plans and activities.
  • Supporting the communication team in developing impactful policy messages, strategic visibility, and in preparing spokespersons and other RFN representatives to present RFN positions.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education. All formal education can be compensated by relevant experience.
  • Multiple years of working experience, preferably with international policy and advocacy work related to environment and/or development.
  • Good understanding of international climate and biodiversity treaties and negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse relevant data.
  • Demonstrated ability to convince and gain acceptance and high capacity for dialogue in diverse and multicultural environments.
  • Ability to work in a structured and organised manner
  • Full fluency in English required, Norwegian and rainforest country languages are an asset.

We can offer:

  • An exciting, dynamic and meaningful job with highly competent colleagues.
  • A working environment characterized by diversity, generosity and humour.
  • A unique opportunity to work with one of the most existential themes of our time: the climate and nature crisis.
  • Varied tasks and challenges.
  • Salary according to agreement, good insurance and pension schemes.
  • Offices in Central Oslo.

The position is a full time, permanent position at the head office in Oslo.
